School Improvement Grants School Improvement Grants are awarded over a multi-year time period to support systemic long-term change in the Arlington Public Schools. These grants will focus on multi-pronged initiatives that have significant potential to improve learning and develop a strong, supportive community for students at the elementary, middle, or high school level, and cannot currently be supported by the tax-funded school budget. These grants are by invitation only, and will be developed through discussions with Arlington Public Schools principals and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
Past Grants
Past grants from the ASF focused on grants that have the greatest potential to improve students' k-12 learning and which are currently beyond what the tax-funded school budget can support.
Enriching Elementary Education (2008-2011)
ASF's most recent initiative is designed to support elementary school teachers in integrating reading, math, social studies, science, art, and other subjects into challenging and engaging curricula and lessons that will enhance learning for all students.
