To honor
Charlie Skidmore's years of dedication and service to Arlington High
School, a group of community members along with AEF is raising funds to help realize
his vision of turning the media center into a modern 'learning commons',
accessible and welcoming to more students during the day and also
after-hours through online databases and other technology.
To this end, any money raised would be used in the following ways:
Space
consult to suggest ways to make the area more inviting and create new
spaces such as a performance stage for poetry jams and gathering places
for small groups.
Build the core collection adding new, current reference, non-fiction/fiction and weed through the existing collection.
Purchase adequate databases that support curriculum such as online encyclopedias, textbooks and core databases.
Purchase additional media technologies, possibly adding new computers and smartboards.
